BitTorrent Goes Mainstream
“Torrent” has ensconced itself as a verb into everyday vernacular along with Google and Xerox. Being the P2P de facto standard for “friends of the internet” file sharing, BitTorrent has worked its way into the hearts and minds of nerds everywhere.
Now, BitTorrent has made a deal with major Hollywood studios for movie distribution. How do you think this will affect the “pirate” market? Will BitTorrent go the way of Napster?
Remedy to False Alarms?
Have you or anybody you know pulled a fire alarm just for fun? It probably wouldn’t be so fun if the above device was installed. It locks your hand in place. Only a policeman or fireman can set you free. This would probably not be good if there was an actual fire. Just a wild guess.
Video Conversion Made Easy (again… and again)
Lifehacker posted yet another free all-in-one video conversion utility. I haven’t had the need to do anything of this sort lately, but I know that some of you do participate in these dark and arcane rituals. If you decide to give this a try, let us know how it goes!
