MacWorld 2007 Keynote by Steve Jobs
It seems like this is going to be a bad year for me financially. Apple, Inc. has ensnared my soul. I’ll be switching over before 2007 is up. I can feel it.
I’m very excited about the iPhone. All the cellphones/smartphones I’ve used thus far have been awkward and barely adequate at best. I have no doubt that Apple’s attention to detail when it comes to user interface will be applied lavishly in this realm. It excites me.
Of course this will involve:
- Purchase of a Mac Book Intel Core 2 Quad (when it’s available)
- Purchase of an iPhone, which involves
- A switch to Cingular from Verizon.
God help me.

Honestly, I’m still not impressed by the Mac. Although, I do appreciate the other Apple Products like the iPod and now the iPhone. My contract with Cingular/AT&T will be up soon and I’ll be eligible for a Handset Upgrade.
Going back to my “Indifference” towards the Mac. Is there any word on VISTA? =D
i want one, too. i wish the be the first kid on the block with one!!! but i haven’t heard about the cost. i’m on cingular, too…
i love touch screen… mmmm
$499 for the 4 GB model.
$599 for the 8 GB model.
*sigh*
Not to spur a Mac vs Windows debate (cuz I’m still in the Linux camp for my personal needs), but Bernard, if you spent a week with OS X, you might have a little more respect for it.
I think Jobs made a bad decision with going with Cingular, but that’s only based on the fact that every person I know who has had Cingular in the past 5 years has since switched. Mike you might want to check Cingular coverage in your area.
As sexy as that phone is, I’d be a little hesitant to be one of the early adopters
I used to always turn my nose up on Apple products, but after seeing some other staunch supporters of Windows fall, my curiosity got the best of me.
I really am amazed by how easy it is to set one of those up and start using. We got my sister a MacBook for her birthday and she loves it. Everything just works! It was even easy to hop onto a Windows Workgroup and copy files off. I can’t even begin to tell you how frustrating the sub-par Windows networking is in general.
The fact that Macs can run both Windows and OS X is also a plus. It’s not like you have to completely leave Windows behind if you switch over. There’s an escape hatch.
Yeah, I don’t think I’m going to be an early adopter of the iPhone, Mike. I’ve been burned by Cingular before.
I respect OS X. I just have no use for it right now.

and the occasional Photoshop if and when I do go out and shoot.
That’s the extent of my computer usage.
Now if I were a Pro Photographer and I had say 2000+ captures to weed thru and post. Then I’d consider dropping some Scratch for a MacBook Pro.
I switched a couple of years ago and don’t foresee myself going back. Good luck on your purchase(s)–sounds like you’re playing your cards right and holding out for the (better) good stuff!
