Apple Approached Verizon First

So apparently Apple approached Verizon to be the carrier of the iPhone before they approached Cingular. I’m not surprised Verizon declined to reach a “mutually beneficial” agreement.  Apple’s M.O. suggests that they like to keep the reigns on everything.  Is that a Pyrrhic policy?

  1. Aww man. That’s too bad. I’d be much more likely to buy an iPhone with verizon service. I don’t think Cingular even works at my house. Oh well.

  2. Agreed, Mike. The iPhone is tempting, but not tempting enough.
