Here’s yet another bit of software that can potentially take any type of video media file, convert it to MPEG-2, and then burn it to DVD.

  1. TMPGEnc has been around a long time and is a great program, especially at only $30, however, this is the first I’ve ever seen of a free mpeg2 encoder. As I understand it, MPEG2 (despite being an open standard, go figure…) requires licensing fees, hence, the Free MPEG2 encoder has only been a myth.

    Untill now, aparrently. Nice find. :)
