Morning Cup O' Joe

Time you enjoy wasting isn't wasted time.

“Simpy” Delicious

I am sure that you have heard of the really cool “social bookmarking” service provided by del.icio.us. I like it because it is clean and simple to use. They also provide a Firefox plugin that makes accessing, adding, updating, and deleting your URLs very easy. Although I do like the idea and the service, it does leave you wanting for a little bit more. How about searching the sites pointed to by your own bookmarks? How about searching through bookmarks saved by others? How about automatic detection of links that are no longer valid (“link rot”)? Well, wait no more. The folks at Simpy have just such a service. They also have there own Firefox plugin as well.

  1. Looks interesting, Ken.

As an alternative, I’ve been using FoxMarks to keep all my bookmarks in sync with each other. It doesn’t engender the social aspect of del.icio.us or Simpy. In fact, it’s quite the opposite. You have the option of keeping your synchronized bookmarks file on your own ftp server if you want.
