Motion Computing’s C5 Medical Tablet PC
This is a great step in the right direction, I think.
My wife tells me stories about all the different hospitals in the area as she does her rotations. One hospital in particular started using tablet PCs instead of paper charts. She said it was pretty handy since you didn’t have to worry about losing paperwork.
I’ve worked with a radiologist in the area to do a study on his workflow for my senior project in college. With the amount of paperwork being shuffled around, it’s a wonder that files don’t get mixed up more often. A slip of the hand could easily knock over the (literal) stack of papers he was working on. Misdiagnosis then leads to breaking bad news to a healthy patient, or worse, good news to a terminally ill patient.
