Morning Cup O' Joe

Time you enjoy wasting isn't wasted time.

Jamba Juice’s "Non-Dairy" Blend

So apparently Jamba Juice’s “Non-Dairy” Blend actually contains milk.  I’m no English Professor, but I kinda thought that “Non-Dairy” meant something did not contain milk.

Firefox Search Plugin for Morning Cup O’ Joe

I know, I know… even with the inspiring category organization scheme of this blog and the handy-dandy search feature in the column to the right, it’s quite possible that some may have difficulty searching for “that one article”.

Fear not.  Employing the power of Google, I’ve created a nice little Firefox search plugin for MCOJ.  Just unzip the contents into the “searchplugins” directory of your Firefox install.

Boo-ya.  Now you can easily do Google-powered searches across Morning Cup O’ Joe. :)

BlueAnt SuperTooth Light Bluetooth Hands Free Kit

Try saying that 10x fast.  The hubbub about this doo-hickey is that it’s full duplex.  For those of you with speakerphone and CB radio experience, you’re probably used to half duplex conversations, where only one person can speak at a time.

With 15 hours of talk time, 800 hours of stand-by time and weighing only 115 grams, this looks like the perfect accessory for your non-BMW-which-already-has-this-built-into-the-radio.

Hand Crank Cell Phone Charger

I can imagine this thing being handy when you’re out in the boonies and your cell phone is out of juice.  Then again, you probably won’t have any signal to begin with.

I guess this could be handy when the zombie apocalypse comes, but at that point, who are you going to call?

The Pillow Book

For the life of me, I’m trying to figure out a novel use (yuk yuk) for this.  I guess if you want to look like you were burning the midnight oil, this could be handy

Quicksilver for Macs

I sense that an Apple computer is in the cards for me in the near future, so I figure I’d better start familiarizing myself with tips & tricks of the trade.

As an avid user of Launchy (for Windows), I look forward to the Mac equivalent. The ability to launch any app or document or tool within a few keystrokes is essential to my computing nowadays. No need for desktop icons. No overuse of the mouse.

UPS Request Delivery Intercept

UPS now offers a service which grants you more control over your packages as they progress through the delivery pipeline.  It’s not free, but it sure could be handy for those times when you just keep missing that delivery guy.  Best of all, you can do this all via the web.

From their website:

When you select UPS Delivery Intercept, you can request that UPS perform one of the following actions:

  • Return to Sender: Return the package to the shipper
  • Deliver to Another Address: Reroute the package to a new address
  • Reschedule Delivery: Hold the package for delivery on a future date
  • Will Call: Hold the package for pickup by the consignee
