Morning Cup O' Joe

Time you enjoy wasting isn't wasted time.

Don’t see this movie for “Captain Jack” go see this movie for “Captain Barbosa”

2hrs & 45mins long…

Felt more like an 1hr & 45mins. Very Good movie!!!

Geoffrey Rush’s Barbosa was sorely missed in the second installment of this franchise but in “World’s End” Rush did not disappoint.

Definite must see this summer, assuming that you saw the previous two.

  1. Barbosa was my absolute favorite character. Definitely worth seeing the movie just for his performance.

  2. In “Worlds’ End” I love Barbosa for the crazed look in his eye when he tells Will Smith….”Its not gettin’ to the land of the dead that is the problem….(then he directs the rudder of the ship with a glorious movement) and then he states….with the voice of a seaman and scary intoneation that I love to hear….”Its Gettin’ baccccck!~” I just love Rush….where has he been all my life? True character acting at its best. I also love when he gets that ultra crazed out look and gives off the feeling of total chaos and pandamonium….as the Chinese ship is about to over turn and Elizabeth charges him that, “You’ve doomed us all,” and he gently holds her chin and explains himself…she really looked at him with wonder and confusion…..I loved that so much…I could totally relate! Then the best was when Rush, As Barbosa then just states one simple Ayyyyye! As he ROLLS his eyes crazy around his head when Will Smith says…The Ship is speeding up!!! and Barbosa states AAAAyyee! And then when Will tries to give direction of how to control the ship, Barbosa states…Nie! Belay that….LET IT RUN STRAIGHT AND TRUE….!!! What was the best, and most enjoyable part was how Barbosa, aka Rush….then throws his all knowing scruffy bearded head back and holds on to a rope from the sails of the boat and laughs a skin crawling laugh as the boat begins to tip over…A type of insane laugh…because he knew full well that they were going to have to go this route and he was not afraid…probably having done this at some other time in his multiple incidents of life and death battles…While he was taking it all in stride, the rest of the crew including Will, and Elizabeth were out of the blooming wits, and minds trying to understand why he would take them to deaths door on such a trip over the most gigantic falls …..especially in the middle of an ocean….! I also love how he states.. that “you have to be lost and inorder to find a place that nobody knows how to find…elseways…everyone would know how to find it! Again no truer statement…I totally relate to that as well…Kudos to the writers of the script itself. But of course kudos to the actor who knew how to put inflection in his voice and use his facial expressions in such a way as to give rise to the emotion displayed by his confused charges that he was leading and escorting to the land of the dead and Davy Jones Locker! I love this movie….just enjoye so trememdously! I want another sequel about Will and Elizabeth, Barbosa and Jack Sparrow, Tia Dalma and Davy Jones along with the India Trading company Captain before they met Will and Elizabeth…so that I can understand what caused Jack to owe his life to Davy Jones, and Why Davy Jones and Tia Dalma came together and who was directing the dead to the land of the dead before Davy Jones..etc., etc.,! I would want the same high caliber of acting, directing, and script…script, script!
