Firefox about:config Tweaks
Computer World has an article listing 20 handy little tweaks for Firefox. I haven’t had any major performance problems with Firefox, so many of these I skipped. The one I have running now is the “open search results in a new tab” tweak. Pretty handy.

The Case Against Homework
Do you think homework is beneficial? Does homework improve a child’s educational outcome?
I remember in a Psych 101 class back in college I read a study on how testing and grades eliminate intrinsic motivation. Groups of children were given various items to play with (e.g. crayons, paper, building blocks, etc.). One group was left to their own devices. They played with all the items equally and in-depth. Another group was given “awards” whenever they drew with the crayons. Interestingly enough, the second group that received the awards stopped playing with the crayons and focused on the other items.
Do you think our educational philosohy (here in the U.S.) is fundamentally flawed?
Star Wars Celebrates 30 Years
I’m as old as Star Wars. What better way to celebrate 30 years of Star Wars than with pictures of a bunch of “Slave” Leia’s… the iconic sex-symbol of that entire series.

Felt more like an 1hr & 45mins. Very Good movie!!!
Geoffrey Rush’s Barbosa was sorely missed in the second installment of this franchise but in “World’s End” Rush did not disappoint.
Definite must see this summer, assuming that you saw the previous two.

Pedal While You Work
Now here’s a $43 excuse for spending more time on your computer. I’d personally prefer being outdoors and breathing fresh air, though a desk fan attachment to this thing would take care of that.
