Locked Files in Windows

Back in my Microsoft days, I hated not being able to delete a file because it was “in use by a system process.”  With this little app, you can find out who has that annoying little file all locked up.

  1. You can see this same thing on any Windows machine, as well. :) In the standard Computer Management console, expand the “Shared Folders” tree. You can see who’s logged into any given share, as well as which files are opened by who, and whether they are opened for read or locked for writing.
