Setting Default Apps in Parallels
I haven’t played with the dark magicks of Parallels yet, but after seeing this guide, I’m intrigued.
Mac Startup Sound Mutable, Starbucks Denizens Rejoice
I always used the heaphone jack trick to silence my Windows laptop during startup just in case. That doesn’t work with a Mac apparently. Luckily, you can grab this system preference panel and take care of business… unless, of course, you want to announce to everyone in the cafe that you are a pretentious Mac owner. 
Taskbar Shuffle
This handy little doo-hickey enables you to reorder your Taskbar and System Tray items. Not bad for freeware that only takes up 6MB of memory.
