Super Water Filter
Michael Pritchard, a water treatment business owner, invented a water filter that can filter out anything larger than 15 nanometers (smaller than a typical virus). Yep, that’s right… viral filtering without the use of harmful chemicals.
It supposedly can produce a fresh glass of water from contaminated water containing fecal matter. I’d hate to be on the quality assurance staff for this product.
Rez, Ikarauga and More Goodness Heading to Xbox Live Arcade
Like Odysseus and Jason, answering to the siren song of the Xbox 360 Live Arcade offerings is tantamount to a wet and drowny end for me.
Two titles heading to the 360 that stand out to me are Rez, a hypnotic rail-shooter with musical phrases instead of sound effects (pictured above), and Ikaruga, an innovative vertical scroll shooter.
Oh how my soul is nearly ensnared.
Stretch Limo Ferrari

‘
How cool would it be to rent this limo for a wedding party? Forget about riding in it–I’d want to drive it.
iTunes album art grabber
And on a philosophically lighter note, the iTunes Album Art grabber.
Basically, just type in the artist and album name, and if the music is available on iTunes it’ll give you a link to the official iTunes album art for that album, either in jpg, or sometimes in tiff.
If you’re as OCD as I am, you’ll enjoy (or be compelled to) updating the art in your iTunes library.
Goodbye, free time.
The “Non-Player Character”
Go read this short story. Now.
In short, it’s about a guy playing an RPG on his computer (something familiar to many of us I’m sure), interacting with an NPC (non-player character, for the non-nerds) who suddenly begins asking some very basic existential questions.
Basically, the last thing that made me think like this was the last short story I posted by Isaac Asimov.
Star Trek: Of Gods and Men – Trailer
Has anyone else seen this? Is this a fan film? It’s like the supporting cast of all the Star Trek series came out and decided to make a supporting cast film.
