Verizon Leaves CDMA for Younger, Newer GSM; Custody Battle Inevitable
Verizon and Vodafone gave the ‘ol raspberry to the CDMA standard and are embracing LTE (Long-Term Evolution), a “progression of GSM’s UMTS platform.” What was the cause? Could it be the fact that the rest of the world uses GSM? The execution of this won’t happen for another three to four years, apparently, so don’t do anything rash.
I’m excited at the prospect of having a veritable slew of cell phone choices to use with my excellent Verizon service. iPhone on Verizon, anyone?
