Morgan, I think it's a bandwidth issue. We'll probably see more bluetooth mice when the Bluetooth 2.0+ spec becomes more standard. I remember hitting bluetooth bandwidth limits with my old laptop. I was utilizing a bluetooth mouse, bluetooth headphones and bluetooth sync with my PDA. It choked.

What I want to know is why aren't more cordless mice bluetooth? I added bluetooth to my laptop when I bought it 2 years ago so that if I desired, I could add a cordless mouse. Macs all come with bluetooth and yet Logitech appears to only offer a single bluetooth mouse. I'm sure someone out there has already answered this question, but I find it annoying that I can't tap into the existing functionality of my laptop while utilizing the latest and greatest mouse designs.

The dongle was a necessity for RF mice since the radio frequency used for communication was proprietary.

The dongle for Bluetooth mice is completely optional, though, since most laptops nowdays have built-in Bluetooth transceivers.

Showing a picture comparing dongles to a slick looking mouse is like comparing apples to apple pie--it's kind of related, but not a real comparison.

I clicked on your link. For some reason, your image above isn't showing the "nano receiver" that I think you were trying to get at.

Either way, this isn't a Bluetooth mouse, it's an RF mouse, so bringing the Bluetooth dongle comparison is out of place.
