Copy 1GB in Four Seconds

There’s ridiculous and then there’s ridiculous. What do you get when you put nine Mtron 16 GB SSDs in RAID-0 configuration? You get a ridiculously fast hard drive array that can copy 1GB in four seconds. Sure, it’ll impress your friends, but I don’t think it’ll win you a date.
A setup like this can cost upwards of $7k. Just wow.

Interesting article… I especially like the Drag Racing analogy. Equating low end torqe to drive access time and top end horsepower to sustained speed (I think that’s what he said).
