Anybody going to check-out the Total Lunar Eclipse?
Looks like our view in the Bay Area will be rained out.
Can someone chime in and give us tips on the best viewing conditions and how to photograph the event.

The best viewing tip is to hope it isn’t cloudy. If you do long exposure shots, you’ll probably want some kind of clock drive, but since the eclipse will already be in full swing right around sunset, you can actually get some dusk shots at relatively fast shutterspeeds. I plan on lugging my telescope mount (sans the actual scope) up a hill, putting my camera on it, and taking some pictures of the (eclipsed) moonrise.
If it wasn’t for the potential bad weather, I’d be out there with my scope, moon filter, and CCD imager. I just don’t want to haul that thing out unless the weather is perfect. Man oh man I can’t wait until the nights are a bit warmer…
