Star Trek Trailer
Okay, I’m officially excited about this movie now. Admittedly, to me, the only thing “Star Trek” about it is the ship and the pointy ears, but maybe that’s a good thing? 
Ooo, I just felt a disturbance in the Force. It felt as if a few hundred cried out in anger at my comment.

I have to agree with you Mike. The only way this is Star Trek is if it took place in an alternate universe. They’ve totally mutated the characters until they’re unrecognizable. Spock is way too emotional in this movie, even for a human/Vulcan hybrid. And what the heck did they do to Kirk? They’ve turned in into some kind of “cool” studly rebel? As I recall in one of the episodes, Kirk admitted to be a withdrawn cadet. And in another episode, he didn’t even know how to drive a car.
Spock is too emotional? Dang Arnold, you can pull a lot out of a trailer. The biggest take-away I had was that Harold must be going to the Vulcan White Castle.

Sounds like it’s 1987 again.
Back in 1987 when Trekies were asked what they thought about “Next Generation”. They said,
“If it doesn’t have Kirk or Spock, it doesn’t have me.”
I’d actually be happier if they made this movie with different characters instead of the Kirk & Spock knockoffs. They look like they belong in the The Real World on MTV instead of a Star Trek film.
