Beautiful iPhone Photography

 3169 2841758741 29850Cbec3
Being an avid photography hobbyist, one of the things that always annoys me is when someone attributes the beauty of a photo to the camera and equipment rather than the skill and execution of the photographer.

As an example of true photographic skill, I present to you these amazing photos, all taken with an iPhone.

I’m so inspired by these shots that I’m already considering an iPhone-only photo-a-day project.

Kindle App for iPhone

Amazon just released their aptly named “Kindle for iPhone” app (iTunes link) for the… uh… iPhone. It’s free, and it syncs books and bookmarks between your iPhone and your Kindle (if you have one).

I’m pretty excited about building up a library of reference books, though. :) I took some screenshots of me grabbing a sample:

I’m using the smallest font setting for the screenshot above. You can adjust font size and bookmark and all that jazz. Pretty nifty!

UPDATE: There’s no search functionality in this app. Boo!

Google Mobile Sync

Has anyone tried out Google’s Mobile Sync yet? Google actually licenses Microsoft Exchange Server for the actual syncing so I’m curious if this functionality will stay free.

iPhone users take note:

During Sync setup, the iPhone will delete your contacts and calendar information. Please back up your data. [emphasis added]

1112 – Immersive Adventure Game for iPhone

If we see more games like 1112 come out for the iPhone, there’s no doubt of its viability as a serious gaming platform, I think.

Gigapixels of image data, now with more zoom action!

Microsoft released a Seadragon app for the iPhone of all things. Why is this awesome? Photosynth was born of Seadragon.

I’m actually surprised at how well it runs on my iPhone Edge connection. Definitely worth a look.

Remember The Milk iPhone App

Finally, Remember The Milk has released their native iPhone app.  The webApp was pretty good, but had a few quarks, especially around dealing with completing tasks.  My initial thoughts on the app are that it works pretty nice.  Entering and editing tasks is pretty clean, though you do jump screens to edit fields.  Completing tasks is exactly what you would hope for.  A swipe of the finger is all it takes.

You do need a Pro account, $25/yr, but if you’re using RTM and the iPhone, you probably already paid for that anyway.
