Only 24 Hours

Scott Adams, creator of Dilbert, had a recent entry on time management in his blog. Here’s an excerpt:

Let’s say you have a typical life and try to live it in the healthiest way. You might allocate your 24-hour weekday this way:

Sleep: 8 hours
Exercise: 1 hour
Work: 8 hours
Eating: 2 hours (leisurely)
Hygiene: 1 hour
Travel: 1 (Commute, errands)

That leaves you three hours for family time, sex, shopping, food preparation, chores, household repair, volunteering in the school, and so on. If you have a dentist appointment, or your talkative relative calls, or American Idol has a two-hour special, you’re tapped out.

It’s a challenge to live a happy life if you aren’t giving enough attention to all of those categories, yet doing so is nearly impossible.

I found this to be thought-provoking and perspective building. Out of curiosity, how do you usually break up your day?

48% of Americans believe pulling out of Iraq would help fix the economy

Sounds good to me, let’s do it!

Update:

Now that I think about it, I can see some Conservative/Pro Iraq War group spinning it the other way.

“52% of Americans believe pulling out of Iraq would not fix the economy”

What’s more important?

The War in Iraq (A.K.A. The War on Terror)

or

The US Economy

I know there’s more to it than just pulling out of Iraq to save our economy, but we have to start somewhere.

What did you do with your 2001 Tax Rebate?

Looks like we are headed for a Recession and our US Government, in it’s infinit wisdom, may be sending us Tax Rebates in an attempt jump start our economy.

“President Bush told congressional leaders privately on Thursday he favors personal income tax rebates and tax breaks for businesses to help avert a recession, officials said, as Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke joined in calls for an economic stimulus package.”

The same thing happened back in the Recession of 2001; individulas received $300, head of households recieved $500 and joint couples recieved $600 in tax rebates.

What did you do with your 2001 Tax Rebate?

I think I bought a new iPod with my $300
