Amazon MP3 – DRM-Free MP3s; Cheaper Than iTunes

Just got a link from a friend who works at Amazon.  I just browsed the site.  Pretty cool.  Pretty cheap.  What’s the catch, I wonder? 🙂  Seems too good to be true.

  1. I ran across this functionality today too when looking for the Hot Chip remixes of Kraftwerk.

Looks like it’s even cheaper when you buy the whole album: http://www.amazon.com/Aerodynamik-La-Forme/dp/B000VTW7JM/ref=sr_f3_3/104-7694120-4155910?ie=UTF8&s=dmusic&qid=1190754326&sr=103-3

Comes with it’s own downloader — I’m guessing along the same lines as emusic:

  2. And it looks like they use 256k bitrates. Very nice! I’m so happy to see sites getting away from the terrible 128k bitrate that has been so popular for years.

  6. I bought music online for the first time this week, through amazon’s mp3 store. Easy, inexpensive and DRM-free 🙂
