OS X Spotlight Tricks

Just got these from Joe. Nice finds!

Spotlight, the uber-search utility in OS X, is limited to local hard drives by default. If you want to have Spotlight index network drives (even Linux shares and Samba shares), you just need to do the following (from veerle’s blog):

Also, don’t forget that you can use Spotlight via the command-line (which sure beats using “find” or “locate”). Check out this article (from 0xFE – 11111110b – 0376 – 254 b9#9):
