Free iPhone Apps

Assets Resources 2008 07 Appstore Splash
Okay, I’m nearly wetting my underoos in eager anticipation of the iPhone App store tomorrow. The iTunes 7.7 software update is already available in preparation for all the iPhone Apps.

Lifehacker has a great list of free (and awesome) apps that will be available.

Which free apps am I most excited about?

  • Remote – controlling your iTunes library via local wifi
  • Google Mobile – think “Quicksilver” for your iPhone (written by the same guy who wrote Quicksilver”
  • NetNewsWire – RSS reader that syncs between a desktop app, a web app, and now my iPhone

  1. Personally I’m most excited about Remote, it would make my iPhone the perfect remote for our Apple TV.

I expect a lot of these apps to replace webapps I have shortcuts to on my home screen, like meebo and whatnot.

Also, I think it’s going to be hard for my girlfriend and myself to avoid buying Bejeweled.

  3. Free to Download & pay per minute

Voip on our iPhone @ $0.06/minute

This will definitely come in handy this August when I go to Rome, Italy.

  4. Can’t get the REMOTE to work.

Got as far as iTunes saying,

“Your Remotes is now able to control iTunes”

    Then I click “OK”

    Then nothing.

  5. Never mind fixed it.

    1. Enable Sharing on iTunes
    2. Go to Firewall (In Security on System Prefs)
    3. There are 3 radio buttons, select the 3rd one
    4. Below the box, click the + icon, a window will appear. Select iTunes, it will default to Allow Incoming Connections.

  6. Urbanspoon

Find that little “Hole in the Wall” restaurant, that you would otherwise overlook.

    Just give it a shake.

    Soon to have motion activation!!!
